Synopsis
Alice, a virtuosic city musician, ventures to an abandoned South Australian town to inspire its residents through music, offering an alternative escape to their seemingly barren lives and the monotonous desert. Can Alice’s plea heal the townspeople of their hurt and rescue them from desolation?
Featuring 14 original songs and poetic narration, written by South Australia's own Fleur Green and David Chapple, this semi-autobiographical story about mental illness and climate change combines original rock music, visceral performance art and contemporary poetry to embrace our identity as individuals and challenge our identity as a nation.
The Desert Plea is supported by Arts South Australia through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
